The 2023 New Forest Walking and Cycling Festival is under way, with a theme of inclusivity.
This year the festival runs for two weeks from 14-29 October, with plenty of expert-guided walks for all interests and abilities, such as wildlife, heritage, arts, and culture.
The Festival aims to encourage everyone to get out and enjoy the special qualities of the National Park.
Many of the walks are along accessible tracks graded on the Miles Without Stiles system as ‘suitable for some’ – meaning strong and confident wheelchair users and helpers, and off-road mobility scooters may find these routes within their abilities.
Last year more than 700 people took part in over 90 events as part of a 10-year anniversary.
Although, shorter than previous events, organisers still hope this year’s festival still hopes to encourage those who don’t normally venture into the New Forest to see what makes it so unique.
