Lyndhurst

The ‘capital’ of the New Forest, Lyndhurst is the bustling heart of the forest. It’s the starting point for many walking routes heading out onto the open forest.

Lyndhurst has plenty of pubs, teashops, cafes and restaurants for you to refuel before or after your walk. You’ll also find the New Forest Heritage Centre in the main village car park.

Walking routes are a short distance from the village centre. The iconic Bolton’s Bench is a popular draw to see the famous New Forest ponies and it’s also the starting point for our walk taking in Pondhead Inclosure and along with Ridge with views over White Moor.

South of the village is Beechen Lane which is an ideal point for accessing walking and cycling tracks while Pinkney Lane takes you in the direction of Bank and Brick Kiln Inclosure.

Our Brockenhurst-Lyndhurst loop walk is a great way to explore both villages and the surrounding countryside and forest.
